COVID-19 Vaccine Information
We will continue to update this page for updates regarding the COVID-19 Vaccine as we receive new information.
Recommendation of the CDC and FDA:
In accordance with the joint recommendation of the CDC and FDA, we are halting appointments for the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine while they investigate rare instances of patients developing blood clots.
We don’t have a great deal of information at this time. We know the condition is serious, but very rare (6 cases across the U.S. after over 6.8 million doses given). The recommendation from the FDA/CDC is as follows:
"People who have received the J&J vaccine who develop severe headache, abdominal pain, leg pain, or shortness of breath within three weeks after vaccination should contact their health care provider."
More information can be found here: https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/joint-cdc-and-fda-statement-johnson-johnson-covid-19-vaccine
We plan to resume vaccine appointments if/when it’s determined it is safe to do so.
